Behaviour Management Back to Menu
We aim to offer a caring, supportive residential environment for children in our care. As part of this environment, a stable and consistent framework of appropriate routines and boundaries that meet the child's needs is seen as being of paramount importance.
The aim of this environment is to help children towards an understanding of the socially acceptable behaviour on which to base their life in the community.
We understand that children who exhibit challenging behaviour will sometimes place themselves and others in a position of danger, whereby staff feel that they will need to intervene in order to prevent significant harm to themselves, others or property.
All staff are trained in the Team Teach approach which is based upon the diffusion and avoidance techniques and emphasises that any physical intervention is used only as the last resort.
